Herm Sprenger System 4 Stirrups

Herm Sprenger

Saftey Stirrups with Four Links

The first jointed stirrups were developed over 25 years ago by a joint effort between Sprenger and inventor Erwin Meroth. These stirrups feature a forward and backward moveable tread which automatically turns the rider’s heels in the correct low position and reduces the risk of becoming stuck in the stirrup in case of an emergency. The movable tread also enables permanent contact and provides an excellent foothold and relaxed calves. Unsurprisingly, the stirrups gained great popularity among show jumpers and military riders.

In 1998 Sprenger improved the stirrups flexibility by extending the joint with an additional link. This is the current form of the Herm Sprenger System 4 Stirrups. The new design provides maximum comfort in addition to the known advantages. It relieves hips, knees and ankles during riding and particularly spares ligaments and menisci.

  • Pivots in four directions simultaneously.
  • Relieves tension in the hips, knees, ankles, and calves.
  • Softens impact on cartilage and ligaments.
  • Highly Flexible.
  • Adapts perfectly to all movements.
